The physics prize was awarded to Alexei Abrikosov, Vitaly Ginzburg and Anthony Leggett "for pioneering contributions to the theory of superconductors and superfluids." [see article]. The prize in medicine was awarded to Paul Lauterbur and Sir Peter Mansfield "for their discoveries concerning magnetic resonance imaging." [see article]. And the chemistry prize was awarded to Perer Agre and Roderick MacKinnon for discoveries and studies of channels in cell membranes [see article].
The Nobel web site is very good - nice articles about science in general and history of the prize.

Some of you asked about my research. Our group (including undergrads) is working on new project which I lead. This article in American Scientist might also be of interest.

Maps of Swain will guide you to our meeting rooms and Alex's office
