Teaching
Since coming to Indiana U, I taught a number of courses at the introductory level, the junior-senior levels (electromagnetism, electronics, mechanics) and graduate courses (mathematical physics , elementary particle physics). In 1994 I started the honors introductory calculus-based course, a two semester course that met five times a week. The meetings were a mix of lectures, discussions, demonstrations and labs. I taught the course for eight years, not sequentially but with a two-year break to teach optics as well. During the two years before retiring from teaching, I taught the senior-level classical mechanics course. While I was at Caltech, my friend Prof. Ricardo Gomez and I prepared these notes on Special Relativity (thanks to former Caltech student, Walter Bright (BS-'79) for providing this scanned copy).
