Lab work should be done with a partner. Partners should collaborate on reports. No more than two people per team.

Lab Reports & Websites

Please read these very specific guidelines for your Honors P222 website and lab reports.

Error Analysis

It is important to understand the concepts of random errors and systematice errors in doing experiments.

See my notes on error analysis when I taught optics.

Lab Notebook

You should buy a lab notebook and use it throughout the semester. I recommend getting a bound quadrille (pages look like graph paper). Use this to record what you did, make sketches and record data. You will not have to turn this notebook in for grading (we will use your written reports) but believe me - you will find it very helpful to carefully and systematically keep your notebook up to date.
