We will be using a number of software packages in this course and they are all available on the Mac G4's in SW135. I assume that many of you already have some familiarity with the packages in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Everyone will be setting up a website for the course (your will get help - don't worry) where you will post your lab reports, some special assignments and your projects.

IGOR is a scientific spreadsheet - very very useful for data analysis - download to your desktop and then expand the manual compressed file.

Vernier refers to the hardware that interfaces various transducers to the computer for data-taking and the associated Logger Pro software to control the hardware and data-taking.
