Some CERN and Other Physics Web Links That Might Be Useful
|
|||||||
| This Talk: The slides from this talk can be downloaded in PDF format. The file is about 11.5 MB. A summary of my research in particle physics can be found here. From that page you can download an article on Exotic Particles from American Scientist and that musical piece called Exotic Particles and the Confinement of Quarks |
CERN: Here is the public entry into the CERN web site I especially recommend the Multimedia Gallery from where you can download great images, videos and brochures. I drew material for this talk from this brochure (PDF) that I found very useful. The teaching resource page is also pretty good. |

| Introductory Resources on Particle Physics: The Particle Adventure is particularly good. If you have children in middle school or high school they might be interested in this and may want to pass it on to their teachers. The Contemporary Physics Education Project is also a great resource for particle physics, plasma physics and fusion, the history of the universe and nuclear science. If teachers would like more information or have their class hear more about particle physics please have them contact me. Phone: 812.327.1881 |
Particle Physics Labs in the USA: Many of these web sites have an outreach page that gives more background on their facilities. Fermilab (near Chicago) Brookhaven Lab (on Long Island) Jefferson Lab (in Newport News, VA) These labs are funded by the Office of Science in the Department of Energy. |
