Porgy and Gorgonian coral - the "real" Winsock
The photo above shows a Porgy in front of some Gorgonina coral. Notice the pattern on the Porgy and how it correlates with the coral. Below I show a crop of the above Porgy photo compared with a photo taken about 10-15 seconds later after the Porgy swims away from the coral. About two years ago I took photos of flounder, over a 15 or so second interval, showing it changing its skin patterns - go here. The thin purplish coral shown above is also Gorgonian but with the polyps withdrawn. |
